Abu Asa’ad Al-Dhamari a commander in AQAP
about their role in the war against the Houthis in Saada
When the Houthis besieged the Salafis in Dammaj in the province of Saada for more than two months, Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) didn’t declare it operational presence there, despite it had presence in some regions of the province, especially Wa’ela region which opend a military front against the Houthis to ease the pressure on Dammaj.
Did Al-Qaeda have any presence in these confrontations, and how could the organization coordinate between the war against it in Abyan and the war in Saada, and how could he be present in a front where Saudi Arabia has a presence, which is its first enemy, and there are Salafist fighters who see them as misguided, and are afraid that its presence might have an impact on the supporting Saudi stance?
Al-Yemen Al-Youm met Abu Asa’ad Al-Dhamari, who was one of those sent by Al-Qaeda to fight in the front of Kitaf against the Houthis, in one of the regions of Dhamar, to answer these and other questions.
