“A large group of death row prisoners
has “vanished” from the third cell of the sixth block of the
penitentiary,” a Pul-e-Charkhi prison official confirmed to TOLO news on the condition of anonymity. This means at least 15 field
commanders of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, awaiting death sentences in central Kabul’s high security
prison Pul-e-Charkhi, escaped on Monday night, a report said on
Wednesday.
