A source in Ansar Al-Sharia revealed to Al-Omanaa weekly newspaper that the tunnels that were discovered in Zinjibar that linked their location to locations near to that of the Yemeni army were in fact for an operation to reach the camp of the 25th Mechanised Brigade to seize it, and their youth began to dig the tunnels since their control of the city of Zinjibar and its length reached 300 meters, but the excavation work stopped at the outskirts of the camp when there was only 60 meters left.
And the source clarified that the excavation work took months and three of their youth died in it because huge piles of sand fell on their heads.
