Two earthquakes of magnitude 6.2 and 6, whose epicenter was located about sixty kilometers from Tabriz and some ten kilometers underground, hit the region at 4:53 p.m. (24:23 GMT) and 5:04 p.m. (12:34 GMT) by the permission of Allah ta'ala .
The cities of Tabriz, Ardabil, Ahar, Varzeghan, Mehraban Heris and many villages have been affected by two earthquakes together with numerous aftershocks.
